Winter with the Bard

Name another event that has photos with Santa Claus, tarot-card readings, fencing demonstrations and previews of “Hamlet.” OK, there’s only one: Shakespeare Dallas’ Winter Faire & Market. The event, from noon-8 p.m., mimics an old-English market with local artisans, Elizabethan entertainment, games and holiday music, plus beer, mulled wine and hot chocolate. $5-$20.

Christmas bar crawl

The third-annual “naughty or nice” Greenville Avenue bar crawl tours 12 local bars and is expected to draw 500 participants. Either buy tickets early — it likely will sell out — or avoid the area from noon-6 p.m., depending on your party preference. $15.
