Venezuelan art, sausage casing demo, 80’s movie classics and more this Labor Day weekend

A slate of events are headed to the Dallas Arboretum this Labor Day weekend, with streaming live college football, sausage casing demonstration, a craft brewery sampling, popsicle sales, retro covers from The MightyRealBand and $2 hot dogs.

Alabama rapper Yelawolf will be bringing his Kid Rock-esque vibes to the Granada Theater on Friday night at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30.

Head to Half Price Books Thursday evening when store staff will show off some of the strangest and worst album covers in their personal collections. Enjoy music and fun a discussion at 6 p.m.

Take part in the opening reception of “Liberation: Art from Venezuela,” at the Bath House Cultural Center. This mixed media exhibition features works by Dina Atencio, Luis Cuevas, Oscar Casanova Niño, Victoria Morales, José León, and Carlos Ramos. The free reception is at 7 p.m.

Roll it back to the 80s on Saturday night at the Angelika for a showing of “Pretty in Pink” hosted by the USA Film Festival. Tickets are $12 and the movie starts at 7 p.m.

Seniors should make it to the White Rock Hills Library Sunday at 3 p.m. for some Tai Chi rhythms. Flex your joints, focus on your breathing and improve balance at this free class.
