Dallas Animal Services picked up two dead bats in the neighborhood that tested positive for rabies, the Dallas Morning News reports.
On two different occasions in mid-August, dead bats were found with rabies near White Rock Lake. The first was found on the 7200 block of Coronado Avenue in Lakewood Hills, and another was found in the 7500 block of Benedict Drive in The Cloisters neighborhood north of the lake.
The City of Dallas confirmed that they are the first cases of rabies in the city this year.
