City budget Town Hall, Granada Theater bday, sweet treats and back to school this week

Head to Moody Performance Hall for a District 14 and District 1 Town Hall tomorrow evening at 6:30 p.m. Councilmen Scott Griggs and Philip Kingston will be discussing the city budget and taking your input.

Dollar Days at the Dallas Arboretum have arrived. Frolic among the flowers for $2. Parking costs $5. Friday at 1 p.m. there will be a demonstration at the kitchen for Snow Baby, Lakewood’s own lighter-than-ice cream option.

Chaos ensues when playwright Stephan Kickham won’t allow actresses to portray female characters in his play. This Pegasus Theatre production of “A Proper Man” is a medley of Shakespeare, “Blackadder” and “Monty Python” performed at the Bathhouse Cultural Center. Tickets cost $15-$30.

Celebrate Granada Theater’s 14th birthday with  ishi. Their soulful sound is part traditional folk music and part electronic production. Medicine Man Revival and OG Garden kick off the night. Tickets are $16-$32.

De-stress from the week at a White Rock Hills library’s free yoga class on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Monday is the first day of school for Dallas ISD. Students are meeting the teacher, picking up uniforms, supplies and maybe painting some parking spots. Learn more about how to get back to school here.
