When Swiss Avenue and the folks behind Porchfest in Peak’s Suburban Addition planned the Summer Wine Walk through 4700 and 4800 block of Swiss, they probably knew it was going to be warm, but the intense heat this week has canceled the event.

Neighbors were supposed to be able to sip cool wines, snack on appetizers and enjoy live acoustic music to benefit the Peak’s Addition neighborhood, but the blazing temps are no cooperating.

“Due to the extreme heat this Friday we are canceling the event. If you bought a ticket you will be refunded. Stay inside and stay cool!” a post for the Facebook event says.

Highs are supposed to soar above 100 degrees nearly every day over the next couple weeks. Seek air conditioning or water at all costs.
