Roller derby, free coffee Fridays, Bryce Bangs release and more this weekend

It’s not in East Dallas, but one of our Fierce Females, Jennifer Lavender, will be competing with the High Seas Hotties at Roller Derby this Saturday in the Dallas Derby Devils league in North Richland Hills. Check out Dr. Lavender (she is also a veterinarian) Saturday evening from 6-11 p.m. Tickets are $12.

An encore showing of Captain Blood will be held at Pocket Sandwich Theater this Thursday at 8 p.m. Doors open for food service at 6:30 p.m. Tickets begin at $10.

Head to The Heights in Lakewood for Free Coffee Fridays, when Veritex Bank picks up the tab for your coffee between 8:30 and 10 a.m. It happens on the second Friday of each month.

Friday night, Bryce Bangs will have an album release show at Granada Theater. The blues, rock and soul artist will be joined by Ottoman Turks and Andy Pickett. Tickets are $8.

From 7:30- 9:30 p.m., come out to Dallas Arboretum this Friday to enjoy their Garden Gigs, a live music show curated by three local artists. Tickets are $15 for non-members.

From 8-9 a.m., join For the Love of the Lake this Saturday for their monthly Shoreline Spruce Up at White Rock Lake Park. Volunteers will meet at the nonprofit’s office to grab breakfast and cleaning supplies.

From 5- 10 p.m., head down to Half Price Books this Saturday to join their Tabletop Games. Meet at the HPB Community Room.
