Elementary schools aren’t always known for fresh lunch delicacies, but Bayles Elementary in East Dallas benefitted from some of Dallas’ best chefs this week.

Promise of Peace, a local nonprofit that turns vacant spaces into gardens to educate and feed children here in Dallas, put together this year’s “Jingle Bayles” event, feeding 600 children at the elementary school.

The menu this year included a kale salad by Chef Graham Dodds from the Statler Hotel, a spinach frittata by Alex Astranti of Uchi and Top Knot, a spicy cabbage slaw by Suzan Fries and Marc Castle of 20 Feet Seafood Joint, roast cauliflower from Acenette Gonzalez of The Mirador and roasted beets by Olivia Genthe of HG Sply Co.
