Crime: J.L. Long custodian assaulted and a reported machete attack on Swiss

A J.L. Long custodian was attacked near the portables Tuesday night. When the victim was able to escape, authorities were called and police searched the area, while the Dallas Police Department AirOne helicopter searched the area via spotlight. The suspect was described as a black male but was not found. The custodian is in stable condition.

Around 8 p.m. Sunday night, Dallas police responded to a stabbing at the intersection of Apple Street and Swiss Avenue near Dallas Theological Seminary in Old East Dallas. The victim reported a verbal altercation prior to the attack by a known suspect. The victim transported himself to the hospital after being evaluated, according to the Dallas Police Department.

A post on NextDoor described the assault as a machete attack, though the police report did not mention a specific weapon. The report gave no information about the attacker.
