Lakewood Elementary has a permanent principal

Kate Wilke, who was the interim principal at Lakewood Elementary, has been named the permanent replacement for Jason Myatt, who lasted just one year at the helm of the high-performing school.

In a Facebook post, Dallas ISD trustee Dustin Marshall writes, “The feedback I’ve received from the community has been overwhelmingly positive about Ms. Wilke, and I have every confidence that she will be the long-term leader that this terrific school needs!”

Wilke, who was an assistant principal before Myatt left, will be the fourth principal in as many years at the neighborhood school.
