Mayor’s Back-to-School Fair coming to Fair Park in August

The Centennial Building at Fair Park will host the Mayor’s Back To School Fair on Aug. 4 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Families will receive many necessities for new school year, from school supplies to health screenings, immunizations and haircuts. Pre-K and elementary students can also pick up colorful backpacks.

To keep it fun, musical entertainment, kids activities and games. With a crowd of 35,000 expected to attend the event, families should do their best to sign up early via pre-registration to make sure they receive the supplies.

“We want to make sure that kids are well-prepared for their first day of school,” said Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings via press release. “Getting ready for school – buying supplies, getting immunizations and haircuts and seeing the dentist – can be overwhelming and expensive for families. We hope that the Fair can ease some of that burden, plus put kids on the right track for a successful school year.”

There will be bilingual Dallas ISD representatives on hand to provide information on magnet schools, psychological and social services, parenting and family literacy. There will also be hundreds of community resource booths with information about everything from crime prevention to nutrition.

Admission and parking for the event are free. Get all the details here.
