The neighborhood business and nonprofit communities comes together next week for Meet East Dallas. It’s a chance to get to know local businesses, samples food from local eateries and visit with neighbors.
Organized by the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce, around 300 small business owners and charity organizations are expected to take part in the evening event. Each will host a booth of information showcasing everything from volunteer opportunities to specials on services. Plus, food sponsors like Times Ten Cellars, White Rock Coffee and Gourmaleo will offer tasty samples throughout the night. There will also be a cash bar.
What’s more, the event always gives back to a neighborhood nonprofit. This year’s beneficiary is C. C. Young’s Benevolence Fund, which helps keep seniors in their homes when fixed incomes don’t cover all the costs. To date, the event has raised more than $7,000 for charities like Alley’s House, Dallas Services and “Coats for Kids.”
The night of networking takes place on Tuesday, March 7, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at C. C. Young Foundation, 4847 W. Lawther Drive. Admission is $5 at the door, but the valet is complimentary.
