This weekend: Beer, books and Bob’s Burgers

Dustin Marshall, DISD trustee, will speak this Friday, July 29, from 9-11 a.m. at Buzzbrews on Live Oak.

Beer and BBQ. That’s what Victor Tangos will serving this Sunday, July 31. In addition, Corey of Dead Flowers will be performing at the event. Tickets are $40 per person and can be reserved by calling 214.252.8595.

Lakewood Brewing Company will be celebrating its fourth anniversary this Saturday, July 30. The taproom and beer garden will be open from noon to 9 p.m. General admission tickets are on sale for $30. Tickets include a souvenir glass, a tasting card for six pours and access to the brewery and beer garden. For more information, visit the website.

Pokémon Go comes to the Dallas Arboretum on Wednesday, July 27, from 6-7:30 p.m. Find Pokémon and learn about the animals and plants that inspire the characters. Tickets are $10 for members and $12 for non-members.

The Junior Players will be performing “Taming of the Shrew” from Wednesday, July 27, through Sunday, July 31, at Samuell-Grand Amphitheatre. The event is free on Wednesday, $10 on Thursday and Sunday, $15 on Friday and Saturday and free for children 11 and under. The shows start at 8:15 p.m. every evening.

The Half Price Books at 5803 E. Northwest Highway will be hosting a release party this Saturday, July 30, for the new “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.” The party begins at 10 p.m. and will wrap up once the books are released at midnight.

Are you a fan of the FOX hit “Bob’s Burgers?” Well, Bryan Street Tavern will be perfect destination for your Thursday night. Test your knowledge of the hit comedy by participating in the quiz night. The event begins at 4 p.m. and will cost $5 per person.

The seven-time Tony winner, Evita, is coming to an end this weekend at University Theatre. Come enjoy one of Broadway’s most exciting and biggest musicals. Tickets start out at $15.
