6 things to do this weekend

This Sunday, July 17, the Dallas City Performance Hall will be presenting the Basically Beethoven Festival. The event runs every Sunday during the month of July and is free to the public. Doors open at 2 p.m. with the Rising Star Recital at 2:30 p.m. and the feature performance titled “Menagerie — Two Pianos, Six Hands, And A Herd Of Animals” at 3 p.m. For more information regarding the event, visit the website.

Meet with newly elected DISD Trustee Dustin Marshall this Friday, July 15, at Bar Louise. The discussion will last from 5-7 p.m.

Next Monday, July 18, the Granada will be hosting a free showing of the Cameron Crowe favorite “Almost Famous.” The event starts at 8 p.m.

The Bath House Cultural Center’s Festival of Independent Theatres continues this weekend from Thursday through Sunday. Single-day tickets are $18 while festival passes range in price. View the full schedule on the website.

This Friday’s Garden Gigs performance at the Dallas Arboretum will include John Tipton, Rania Khoury and Drew Womack. Tickets are available for members at $8 and $10 for non-members. Feel free to bring your own picnic to the event.

“She Stoops to Conquer” will be performed this Thursday and Friday, July 14-15, at Samuell-Grand Amphitheatre. Gates begin to open at 6:45 p.m. for members and the performance starts at 8:15 p.m. Tickets are available on the website.
