Want to support the Lakewood Theater? Be at City Hall today

Shortly after the seats were taken out of the Lakewood Theater and given away in the parking lotDallas Landmark Commission chairwoman Katherine Seale formally requested that “the city of Dallas immediately begin steps to initiate the landmark designation of the Lakewood Theater.”

And today is the day. Neighbors can show support for the initiation of landmark designation during the Landmark Commission’s meeting today at 1 p.m. at City Hall.

On the Save the Lakewood Theater page on Facebook, they requests that neighbors come early to allow time for “airport type security” on first floor, on the north side. Then look for volunteers in the Flag Room with sign in sheets and stickers.

Check out the Facebook event page by Preservation Dallas for more details.
