Surprise ice cream social for J. L. Long students who raised $2,400 for cancer support

The 1,300 students at J. L. Long Middle School raised $2,400 in change for Cancer Support Community North Texas (CSCNT) through the Common Cents: Pennies from the Heart program.

As a thank you, Braum’s and CSCNT surprised the students with ice cream at JJ Long last Friday.

Common Cents: Pennies from the Heart is a student-driven educational program offered through Dallas ISD to teach philanthropy by enabling students to play an active role in raising money for their communities, according to the website.
