Lakehill Warriors win against Irving Universal, break school record

1175154_632171510147974_1082235243_nLakewood’s own Lakehill Preparatory School made an impressive return to six-man football this year by defeating Irving Universal 105-69, and they broke a school record with their 105 point score while they were at it, according to a press release from Lakehill.

For most of the first half the game was neck and neck, but the Lakehill Warriors put a stop to that in the second half.

In the end, the Lakehill offense accounted for more than 700 yards, led by three rushers with over 100 yards, the report says. Senior Keith Mitchell had 293 yards and seven touchdowns, senior Johnathan Page had 166 yards and four touchdowns, and junior Sean Puls added 105 yards and one touchdown. Senior Drew Norman completed three of four passes for 75 yards, including two touchdown passes to freshman Brandon Bartholow.

Defensively, senior Hudson Trent and sophomore Brandon Douglas led the Warriors with 12 tackles each. Senior Brandon Shaw had a great all-around game, contributing 12 tackles, two interceptions, and 179 kick return yards with one touchdown.

Lakehill is 1-0 on the season and will host Wise County Christian on Friday, Sept. 13 at Perry Field at 7:30 p.m.
