Fire means no Kalachandji’s dining for a few days

The Twittersphere was ablaze last night with news of the fire at Kalachandji’s. (Thanks to Julie Ross @bipolaroids for tweeting to @Advocate_ED and giving us a heads up.) The DMN has a story noting that the damages are estimated at $75,000 for the Hare Krishna temple and vegetarian restaurant.

Kalachandji’s just updated its Facebook page with this message:

“Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. The fire was in the adjacent building and luckily no one was hurt. Unfortunately, they turned the gas off so we will be closed for a few days. We will keep you updated.”

It’s no secret that Kalachandji’s is one of our favorite spots to dine in the neighborhood, so we’re hoping for a quick and full recovery.
