Torchy’s Tacos coming to Casa Linda

Coming soon to Casa Linda: Torchy's

Torchy’s Tacos, the ever expanding taco chain that started several years ago in a trailer in Austin, will open in Casa Linda in the former  Souper Salad spot. I have never eaten at Torchy’s, but based on the menu description, it could very well be a big win.

Thanks to Advocate reader Michael Mosteller for snapping and sending this photo.

We are waiting on word about the opening date. I’ll update you as soon as I know more.

Is anything going on with this? The last time I went by nothing had been done with the location.

  • No, but I will check into it in the mornin’!

Anyone know what is up with Fat Daddy’s being closed? We tried to go last night but it was locked up and dark at 6:00.

  • In response to my inquiry about the Casa Linda opening, Torchy’s PR department’s Brittany D. Neighbors says, “we’re afraid it’s a bit too early to start that fire.” I thought they started the ‘fire’ when they put the big ol’ sign in the window, but, OK.

We have been hoping for a Tin Star, but the menu at this place looks better! So excited!

  • I would sure love for a good Vietnamese place like Pho is for Lovers to come into Casa Linda….

This is a really big win for Casa Linda. It says a lot about the area that places like Alligator Cafe, Hypnotic Donuts and Torchy’s are picking Casa Linda as their place to open a new place or move to. I’ll still take Good2Go for breakfast tacos but Torchy’s lunch offerings are incredible especially the queso. AmREIT is doing a great job of filling the vacancies at Casa Linda Plaza. I hope they can get a good tenant to fill the now vacant Blockbuster spot.

I’ve eaten there and it is awesome. Good 2 Go better watch it’s back.
