Stanley Marcus estate: Preservation efforts continue

You might remember the hub-hub a few months’ back about the former Stanley Marcus estate on Nonesuch Lane in Lakewood: At the time, the current homeowner originally planned to raze the home but after public outcry changed his mind. You can read Back Talk’s stories about the issue here, here and here. Credit goes to the Dallas Observer and Robert Wilonsky for bringing the issue to light back then.

Anyway, the DMN has a good follow-up story, bringing us up-to-date on the latest. And it appears the city is making sure the home is protected, and Mark Lovvorn (the homeowner) is now more than happy to follow the city’s lead and preserve the property.

If you’ve never driven down Nonesuch Lane, it’s worth a drive over there to see real history in our neighborhood. And it’s good to know that at least this part of Dallas history isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
