Nestled among the near-downtown apartment complexes of Gaston Avenue, Two Sisters To Go is quite a find. Rare is the lunch destination that combines funky atmosphere, seriously inspired food and reasonable prices.
And TSTG also is exceptional in another aspect — in the Dallas world of come-and-go eateries, this place is thriving in its 15th year.
The company began with its namesakes — owner Connie Chantilis, a Forest Hills resident, and her sister, Rosanne Herskind — selling box lunches in Dallas salons. Though only one sister is still involved in the daily production (Roseanne left to pursue other ventures), it has grown in all other aspects. There are now two To Go locations, in addition to a successful and award-winning catering business.
It’s easy to see why. The food, prepared by chef Jonathan Stirnweis, is fresh, flavorful and stellar in its presentation, as the charred mango pico salmon below can attest. And, despite the “to go” moniker, you can eat in at the Gaston location — if you can find an empty table.
