Silver bells

Hear that jingling up and down Swiss Avenue? It may be a horse-drawn carriage ride offered by The Brick Room, 1925 Skillman St. at Oram. Horse-drawn carriage rides starting at the restaurant and going down Skillman to tour Swiss Avenue will be available every Wednesday through Saturday night Dec. 3-Dec. 20. Tickets are available at the booth in front of the restaurant and cost is $15 per adult and $12 per child. Rides start at 6:30 p.m. and run until midnight. Carriages carry up to seven and the party wagon can carry up to 12.

Five dollars of each adult ticket and $2 of each children’s ticket will benefit Family Outreach of East Dallas.

Says Lakewood resident Dean Ryan, owner of The Brick Room: “We are so close to the beautiful Swiss Avenue neighborhood that we thought carriage rides would be a great way for couples and families to enjoy the holidays. Then we realized that this would be another way to benefit one of the community’s most deserving charities.”
