Shoot out at Greenville Avenue and Prospect leaves one Good Samaritan shot

It was just before 11 p.m. when a man attempted to break up a fight between two other men at the corner of Greenville Avenue and Prospect.

One of the fighting men pulled out a handgun, causing the victim to walk away from the scuffle. Then, another man on site displayed his own gun.

“The armed males began shooting at each other,” reported officer Melinda Gutierrez. “During the exchange of gunfire, the victim was shot.”

The unidentified armed men both fled the scene before cops arrived. They found the victim suffering from a gunshot to the groin. He was transported to Baylor Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It’s not the first time that corner has seen violence. Back in 2013, another street brawl led to a stabbing that left one man dead.
