Teachers are vying for a chance to speak at the inaugural Extra Yard for Teachers Summit, and East Dallas teacher Katey Batey is among the seven finalists.
The summit is an event designed to celebrate and inspire North Texas teachers. It’s a part of College Football Playoff programming that culminates with the National Championship Game at Cowboys Stadium on Jan. 12.
Batey is a fourth grade teacher at Dallas ISD’s SS Conner Elementary in East Dallas. Through tomorrow, Dec. 10, her video submission will be on TheITeachProject.com microsite for public voting.
The videos capture the voices and stories of teachers across North Texas about breakthrough moments in the classroom. The teacher whose video receives the most votes will be invited to speak at the Extra Yard for Teachers Summit on Jan. 10.
Help Batey out by going to the website and upvoting her video.
