Houndstooth at Skillman and Oram on hold, unsure of future

NoHoundstoothWe were supposed to have a Houndstooth on the corner of Skillman and Oram by now, but a peek in the windows shows nothing but empty space.

The custom framing store, Central Gallery, was booted out to make room for the coffee shop, so the frames are gone, but no other steps have been taken toward transforming the space into a java joint.

Sean Henry, the owner of Austin-based Houndtooth says the project is on hold while he deals with some unexpected issues.

“We hope to have something up and running,” he says, but then adds that he’s a little uncertain about the future of the project.

“I’m not very positive about the outcome of this.”

He says he didn’t want to elaborate more than that, but he says he’ll keep us posted on the progress.

Does it have anything to do with the exact same concept opening up three blocks away?
